A Family Tradition

  • My mother devoted her life to the study of her culture and roots. She passed on a tradition of yearly adventures to the towns and archeological sites of the Yucatán peninsula, from the time I was born until she passed to the next realm.

  • I sold out before the event and made an other trip down to purchase some more. Town-hopping by bus, I began to feel a deeper connection to my roots and my mother. The more I went the deeper I ventured into the rural towns, home to so many incredible talented embroiderers.

I wanted to create something that my mother would have been proud of, and using knowledge of fine textiles, I began creating original designs for the artisans to bring to life.
